President Donald Trump is all fired up on the cover of Time’s latest issue, which highlights the president’s first year in office. The “Year One” cover, designed by artist Edel Rodriguez, turns Trump’s yellow hair into a blazing inferno—illustrating the “fire and fury” that have occurred since Trump’s inauguration nearly one year ago.
According to Time, the cover was inspired by Michael Wolff’s new book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” in addition to Trump’s threat of “fire and fury” against North Korea. “We used to live where the United States was a pretty steady country, and now you wake up every day and try to figure out where’s the next fire, where do we have to go, what do we have to try to contain,” Rodriguez said. “It’s sort of this President that you’re always trying to contain, like a wildfire that’s moving from one place to the other at all times.” The animated cover has been viewed more than 125,000 times on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time Rodriguez’s work has captured the attention of thousands on social media. He has designed other viral Time covers, in addition to art for Der Spiegel magazine. His simple yet powerful illustrations include “The Wrecking Crew,” “America First,” “Meltdown” and the infamous “Total Meltdown,” which was recognized as the American Society of Magazine Editors Cover of the Year last year.
Many of his illustrations depict Trump with a bright orange face and burning yellow hair. Rodriguez used those same elements when he created his own interpretation of the “Fire and Fury” cover, which again depicts a screaming and fired-up Trump.
