Penn State vs. The Clowns: Scores of PSU Students on #PennStateClownWatch

All around the country, people have been reporting seeing creepy clowns hanging around in the dark and it’s left everyone a little on edge. But clowns take note: the Penn State campus at University Park is onto you and they’re not afraid to fight back.

On Monday night and very early Tuesday morning, reports came in around the Penn State campus in State College, Pa., that there were clowns spotted on and around campus. And suddenly, by Penn State magic, scores of students poured out onto the quad and outside the dorms and started moving through campus and down the street on what was essentially a witch-hunt for clowns. A clown hunt, if you will.

The rumor of clowns hanging around Happy Valley was never actually confirmed and ended up spawning more rumors, such as that the clowns were hiding in plain sight among the students or that the clowns were a fraternity prank. Police noted that if there had actually been clowns, the sheer volume of people out searching for them combined with the police force out checking into it would have most likely resulted in the culprits being caught.

The hunt turned into a rally as students began the “We are!” chant as they moved through campus.

While most people fear the clowns, Penn State students have shown no fear. Will it keep the clowns away from University Park?
