Has Kevin Feige Suggested That Avengers Infinity War Will Resolve Thanos Storyline?

While the next two Avengers films were previously suggested to be parts one and two of the Infinity gauntlet. But then Marvel Studios has shifted its upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” saga from being a two-part film to two separate films which they now claim are only loosely linked, despite both going into production together and then releasing a year apart.

Marvel President Kevin Feige spoke with IGN about how the two upcoming “Avengers” movies differ from each other:

“There’s a reason we have publicly called the first one ‘Infinity War’ and the second one ‘Untitled,’ because the movies we were developing were not – certainly there’s a connection, there are with all our movies – but it’s not a first part and a second part. It’s a whole movie and a whole story, and then a whole movie and a whole story. That’s about all I can say. It’s certainly inspired by everything that has come before and everything that is hinted at before.

We will be intercutting a lot of stories in that movie in a lot of different locales, as it sort of is in the Avengers movies as well; who is facing off against who. In this movie, it’s going to be fun to mix that up. One of the things that’s great about the Infinity Gauntlet is everybody tried to go up against Thanos whether they were god-like powers or not, because that’s what Avengers do. The fun about those two movies that we’re doing essentially at the same time is everybody’s there.”

There has previously been talk that both of these movies will feature every previously established character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, but it has yet to be confirmed if this means characters from the TV side of the MCU will be joining the fight. Feige was then directly asked if ‘everybody’ included Defenders characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist? Feige only responded with: “Spoilers!”

Fans should start naming all the superheroes that want to see in the films. Which Marvel characters do you want to see paired together?

Production is slated to begin on both movies next month, with a back-to-back shoot that is believed to span roughly nine months, and has been rumored to cost upwards of $1 billion. Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo have famously teased that both movies will feature a whopping 67 characters, although they have backed away from that specific number since then.

What do you think will be happening with the two films? Which Avengers do you hope to pop up on film? Sound off below in the comments section.
