Magic was in the air for the Cirque du Soleil theme on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night and last night, love waltzed right into the ballroom. Pro dancers Sasha Farber and Emma Slater got engaged live on Tuesday night’s results show.
Farber proposed after dancing a breathtaking contemporary routine with Slater to Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.” He then got down on one knee in front of the live audience and surprised Slater with a proposal. “I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time. I love you so, so much,” Farber professed. “Will you marry me?” Slater immediately said “yes” as streamers fell to the stage. Fellow pro Derek Hough and Farber’s current partner in the competition quickly ran onto the dance floor after the proposal, followed by the rest of the cast members.

A glittering background that read, “She said YES!” also decorated the stage. Host Tom Bergeron later joked that they were thankful Slater said yes “because we didn’t have graphics for the other option.”
According to People magazine, Slater’s ring is a gorgeous pink sapphire, the same color as her mother’s ring. Slater later captioned her Instagram photo, “I will never forget this moment, the best day of my life.”

Farber and Slater have been dating for more than five years and in August, bought a fairytale-like cottage, telling Entertainment Tonight that many a dance has been choreographed in the new home, along with hosting amazing cast parties. In the interview, which occurred last week, Farber also hinted that “marriage is definitely in the cards.”
Slater shared similar sentiments in an interview with Fox News saying that she wanted to tie the knot, adding, “I feel like it’s soon. I’ve been hinting pretty heavily and if you tell all your girlfriends to go tell and him [that] I think I was ready for marriage now, then I think that’s a pretty strong hint. He probably gets it.”
Dancer Kym Johnson and previous partner Robert Herjavec, who is an investor on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” also found love on the dance floor. Sparks immediately flew between them and the pair got married in July. Pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are also currently planning their wedding and expecting a baby next year.
This season, Slater, who was eliminated last week, was paired with former Texas Governor Rick Perry, while Sasha Farber is still in the competition with reality television star Terra Jolé. Nine couples currently remain in the competition after Vanilla Ice & Witney Carson and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds were sent home in this Tuesday’s double elimination results show.
