Are full-time office jobs a thing of the past? Not necessarily, but with flexible work options becoming more and more popular, higher numbers of job seekers are foregoing full-time work in favor of part-time jobs. In fact, more than one in six people are currently working part-time in the U.S., according to a recent stat from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
But if you think only retail companies are looking for part-timers, think again. FlexJobs found that many Fortune 500 businesses are looking to hire part-time workers. The site analyzed data from over 40,000 companies in its database to find the ones that posted the most job listings for part-time workers during the first three months of 2017 (January 1-March 31).
The 50 companies hiring for part-time jobs span almost all career fields, such as healthcare, education, technology, and finance. The job postings include options for both employee and freelancers alike. The hours ranged from a few to up to 30 hours or more each week. And the jobs being hired for are just as varied as the companies that made the list. Job listings such as teacher, bookkeeper, graphic designer (and even a pediatrician!) are all being hired by these companies.

With top companies such as Apple and Wells Fargo actively recruiting and hiring part-time workers (plus the percentage of job seekers who are actually looking for part-time work), it makes sense that organizations should take a look at their employee structure to determine if including more part-time workers would be advantageous to their organizations.
