Herbie Russ Impresses With Cover Of ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ On America’s Got Talent

Herbie performed “With A Little Help From My Friends” with his signature saxophone to impress the America’s Got Talent judges. Russ is the long-haired saxophonist competing on America’s Got Talent. A graduate of “Luv U”, Herbie describes his profession as “paying the rent with my rock.”

During his explosive performance, guest judge Laverne Cox snapped along and cheered him on. “You’re in the running,” Simon Cowell assured Herbie after his performance.

As a man who has lived in homeless shelters in the past, Herbie also volunteers his time singing “Amazing Grace” on the streets of Detroit as “Homeless Herbie.” While wearing soiled pants and pushing a shopping cart, he is what videographer Tom Mabe calls a “bait bum.”

Herbie is also the voice behind the Detroit Tigers theme song “Home Again” for Comerica Park. His singing and playing ability allowed him to live that way for a while. After a gig was up, he’d be back to living in a car because all of his money went to drugs.

What did you think of the performance? Let us know in the comments section.
