Mexican Democrat Congressman Arrested While Illegally Entering United States Is Fake News

A Mexican Democrat Congressman being arrested while illegally entering the United States. There is no truth to a report that Illinois Representative Luis Gutierrez was arrested by Border Patrol in Texas for being an illegal immigrant. The Congressman has defended the DREAMers program.

Where did this fake news originate? The Last Line of Defense published the fake news article on Nov. 9, 2017 reporting that Guiterrez had been arrested due to being an illegal immigrant.

Illinois Representative Luis Gutierrez has spent the last year trashing MAGA and now we know why: he’s an illegal.

On October 23, Gutierrez was picked up just outside of Loredo, Texas by Border Patrol. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services released a memo to the press later that day explaining what happened, but for some reason, we are not hearing about it until now (Don’t worry patriots we will get to the bottom of that later). According to the memo, Gutierrez was halfway over a particularly flimsy portion of the border fence when Border Patrol officers caught him. When the brave officers asked him for identification he said that he did not have any and then told them:

“I’m crossing this way because I am undocumented, but it doesn’t matter because I am a congressman in Illinois.”

Officer John Jacobsmith told the illegal alien that it matters very much and put him in handcuffs. Gutierrez was taken to a holding center in Loredo but was released shortly after the 9th Circuit Court told officers that they are not allowed to arrest Democrats at the border. This is the same court that released a Muslim doctor who refused to treat a Christian boy, so we are not surprised.

However, there is no truth to the above story. There is no memo from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services about Gutierrez being arrested in conjunction with his “status as an illegal immigrant.” The image used in the story could not be traced to its original source.

Gutierrez’s biography reads, “Married and both a father and grandfather, Rep. Gutiérrez was born and raised in Chicago to parents who had themselves migrated to Chicago from Puerto Rico in the early 1950s. He previously served as an Alderman in the City of Chicago and has been a teacher, a social worker and a cab driver, among other diverse experiences.”

However, Gutierrez was one of three Democratic lawmakers arrested outside Trump Tower in New York on Tuesday as part of a protest of President Donald Trump’s decision to end legal protections for hundreds of thousands of young immigrants.

Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

Finally, The Last Line of Defense carries the following disclaimer on its website:

In other words, if you believe this crap you’re a real dumbass.
