Demi Moore Rejecting Donald Trump Supporters For Fans Is Fake News

Demi Moore announcing that that she does not want any President Donald Trump supporters for fans is fake news. There is no truth to reports that the actress made the controversial political statement that she would rather not have any Trump supporters as fans of hers. Of course, Hollywood has been perceived as all liberals with an agenda against Trump. As a result, there has been many clickbait headlines.

Where did this fake news originate? Snopes reported that “shady online operators” have been trafficking in clickbait by posting false stories claiming that various celebrities “have either expressed unlikely vociferous support” for Trump and his followers or “have expressed controversial and open hostility towards Trump and his supporters.” The end goal is simple: to get people to click on the fake news.

Snopes gave an example about multiple low-rent web sites claiming that Moore had firmly stated she did “not want Trump supporters for fans” and additionally ranted about “this awful country with disgusting people.” However, Snopes explained that Moore never said such a thing about Trump or his supporters. The sites pushing this fake news also failed to give any source or context to document their claims.

Snopes said the sites “ran with clickbait headlines attached to articles that referenced a tweet issued by a different actress” such as Ellen Pompeo of Grey’s Anatomy. The stories also embedded an unrelated video featuring speculation about “The real reason we don’t hear from Demi Moore anymore.” The only support for these stories is “a handful of sketchy political clickbait web sites,” says Snopes.

Here are some examples of people sharing the fake news on social media.

Recently, Moore has settled a lawsuit filed against her by the family of a man who drowned in her pool. TMZ reported that 21-year-old Edenilson Valle was found dead in Moore’s swimming pool in 2015 when one of her staffers threw a party for a small group. The man’s family ultimately sued Demi in 2017, claiming she was responsible because there were no depth markers and the rocks near the pool created a tripping hazard.
